You left. You know you were right to leave. And at eleven at night you still miss him. Nothing has gone wrong with your healing. Grief and truth can live in the same body at the same time.
You are grieving the potential, not the reality
The relationship you mourn is often the one that almost happened. Write down what the last six months actually contained, not what you were hoping the next six would hold. Read it when your memory gets generous.
Your nervous system learned to call chaos home
Inconsistency creates a chemical loop. When calm arrives, it can feel like boredom or even danger. That reaction is a habit, not a compass. It fades as you build safety inside your own life.
Rebuild in three places
Body: sleep, food, movement, and rest that you do not have to earn. Faith: prayer or stillness that reminds you that you were worthy before anyone chose you. Community: two or three women who will tell you the truth kindly.
Do not audition for closure
Closure is not something he hands you in one final conversation. It is something you build in the weeks you do not text back, in the mornings you choose your own peace over an explanation.
One honest question for this week
If nothing about him changed for a full year, would you still want this life? Sit with the answer without rushing it. That answer is the beginning of your next chapter.
